Blogging lead different retirement life


Blogging no longer belong to teenagers' entertainment or styles. Blogging can be taken by senior citizens. Maybe, retirement periods can be claimed as a nightmare to most of the senior citizens.  Most of people are fear, worried and resist of retirement because they afraid of lonely, feeling of losing direction, and doing nothing at home.

But suprisingly, one young-heart senior citizens who are extremely enjoy her retirement with blogging, she called Lily Fu. she was enjoy her retirement life by blogging everyday (Teng, 2012). Lily Fu was an active blogger and obtained her own blog called -Senior Alouds-. She had wrote over 600 articles which related with senior citizens issue and topics, he said.

Nowadays, there are several reports show that many negative implication of blogging, but still have people are use it ethnically and meaningful. Definitely, blogging may provide unlimited informations to us, but at the same time, it also can save senior citizens from ''nightmare".

By blogging, every senior citizens can enjoy their last part of life meaningful actually. As Quick (n.d) stated that, blogging may help senior citizens to earn extra money, solve loneliness, increase entertainment and get some specific informations. Hence, people do not need to fear of retirement life instead of enjoy this golden age by blogging. Senior Care Staff (2010) said that, "technology has opened up a new world of retired living to senior citizens" (22July, SeniorCare.net).

  1. I do agree that blogs do give positive impacts such as a place for elderly to spend time on. They can post stories about their life to let others experiences their life and gain knowledge from it. Since blog is a leisure activities which elderly could spend time on hence getting satisfaction from it. It may also help elderly to have something to do rather than sitting at home with nothing to do that may decrease their abilities in everyday lifestyle.According to Goroshko and Zhigalina (2010: p. 97) “…blogging is mainly a leisure practice for both men and women, both sexes experience the same range of satisfaction from the activity." People can fulfill their needs by spending times on blogging may help elderly to pass by their extra time with something beneficial and knowledgeable.
